...garrett turbos 'donated' my school club (formula SAE - CSULB) a variable nozzle turbo (don't know the size, but i think its the smallest they make). and what the 'variable nozzle' feature is: the compresser wheel is actually 'variable' in that as the engine speed increases, so does the angle of the vanes on the compressor wheel: adjusting to all engine speeds. with this type of technology, it eliminates turbo lag or at least i would think. i'm not sure if they released it to the public, but it exists.
